Al-Zahraa University for Women welcomed children from Al-Sibtain Academy for Autism and Developmental Disorders to celebrate their graduation after successfully completing comprehensive rehabilitation programmes. The programmes included intensive training as well as psychological and social preparation, with the aim of empowering the children and preparing them for active integration into their daily lives and surrounding communities.

The Academy’s administration expressed its appreciation to the University for its generous hospitality and cooperation in organising the ceremony. It affirmed its ongoing commitment to providing advanced therapeutic and educational services, noting that the programmes offered open new avenues for children to progress and achieve full integration into society.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Haider Al-‘Abidi, Head of the Health and Medical Education Authority affiliated with Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, and Dr. Osama Al-Sa’adi, Director of Al-Sibtain Foundation for Psychiatry, Autism and Community Rehabilitation at Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, alongside the Academy’s administrative team, headed by Shatha Al-’Awadi, Director of the Academy.

In his address, Dr. Al-’Abidi noted that the Academy is the first academy in the Middle East to obtain international accreditation in the field of autism treatment, ensuring the highest standards of quality and competence in the care and rehabilitation provided to children.

The celebration represents an important step towards raising awareness of the importance of specialised support for children with autism. It also highlights the significance of comprehensive and integrated care as a key to empowerment and social integration, fostering hope among children and their families and helping to prepare them for a brighter future.
