As part of the “Pink October” awareness campaign, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Al-Zahraa University for Women inaugurated a charity bazaar under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, President of the University, and in the presence of the esteemed academic staff. The event reflected the University’s steadfast commitment to its social responsibility and its mission to promote health awareness among students, while also supporting cancer patients throughout their treatment journey.
The bazaar showcased a wide variety of items created and presented by students including handmade crafts, artworks, and food products with all proceeds dedicated to supporting the Warith Cancer Treatment Foundation. The event also featured the active participation of the laboratory teaching staff, who offered free medical tests and consultations, along with educational guidance on cancer prevention and the importance of regular screening.
In her remarks, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani emphasized that volunteerism and humanitarian service form an integral part of the University’s educational and moral mission, aiming to cultivate a generation of women who embody knowledge, compassion, and the spirit of giving in serving others.
This initiative underscores Al-Zahraa University for Women’s ongoing efforts to integrate academic learning with community service, reinforcing its role as a leading institution that instills values of empathy, responsibility, and civic engagement. Through such meaningful activities, the University continues to nurture both the intellectual and humanitarian dimensions of its students, contributing to the building of an aware and cohesive society.
