Based on the commitment of Al-Zahraa University for Women to invest the talents of students and develop their abilities in cultural and scientific activities, under the motto “Language as means of Creativity”, the English Language Department held the third scientific cultural festival, on Sunday 12/3/2023 for three days on Aum Abiha in the first day. The festival was attended by Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mullah Al-Sultani the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, Prof. Dr. Hamed Ibrahem Al- Temimi Assistant President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Prof. Dr. Iman Bahia the Dean of Education Faculty, Prof. Dr. Hassan Hadi Al-Qazaz the Dean of Health and Medical Technologies Faculty, Dr. Wafa Abbas Al-Sahan the Head of the English Language Department, faculty members, and a group of the female students. The festival began with the Holy Qur’an recitation, and then moment of silence for the souls of the martyrs of Iraq, accompanied by the national anthem. After that, the speech of the Dean of the Education Faculty Prof. Dr. Iman Bahia, followed. This was followed by a video report about the English language Department prepared by the Media Department. Then the speech of the Head of the English Language Department, Dr. Wafa Al-Sahan. A theatrical presentation entitled 'The Era of Apps', prepared and performed by some female students of the department, followed. There was also a song in English entitled 'Something Just Like This'. After that, Dr. Yasir Badaiwi took the podium to give a lecture entitled 'I Can'. This was followed by a guessing game about English abbreviations presented by two students, and then a theatrical presentation entitled 'Hamlet: The Prince of Denmark'. The festival concluded with honoring the winners of the poetry, story, and creative writing competition. On the second day, a scientific debate was held between the students of the English Language Department and their counterparts from the University of Kufa and Karbala, along with the Imam Al-Kadhim Faculty/ Hillah Branch. A painting and handicrafts exhibition, along with various art projects, was also held on the sidelines of the festival.
