Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, and with the support of Professor Dr. Iman Samir Bahiyya, Dean of the College of Education, the Department of English organized a distinguished event in celebration of Department Day. The occasion witnessed a large turnout of students and faculty members.

 

The ceremony began with a recitation from the Holy Quran by one of the department’s students, followed by a welcome speech from the Dean, who emphasized the importance of the English language in enhancing students' academic and professional opportunities. Subsequently, Professor Dr. Qasim Al-Azzawi, Head of the Department of English, delivered a speech commending the efforts of students and faculty members in advancing the department’s academic standards. The event also featured a speech by Dr. Yaseen Al-Ansari, Cultural Advisor of the International House London (IHL), who encouraged students to master English and offered valuable advice on the teaching profession.

 

The celebration included a variety of cultural and artistic activities, where students performed a theatrical play that was well-received by the audience. Additionally, several students recited poems, alongside other engaging activities that showcased their linguistic and literary talents.

 

At the conclusion of the event, certificates of appreciation were awarded to the participants in recognition of their efforts and contributions, creating an atmosphere of joy and pride among attendees.
