Under the patronage of the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education, Prof. Dr. Iman Samir Bahiyya, the Department of Art Education, in collaboration with the Center for Continuing Education, held a scientific workshop entitled: “Techniques for Working with Cold Porcelain (Cold Ceramic).”

 

The workshop was presented by Lecturer M.M. Anfal Nazem Lafta.

 

It covered, in its sessions, an introductory overview of the art of cold porcelain and its characteristics, with a clarification of the main differences between it and thermal ceramics, in addition to a detailed explanation of the composition of the clay and the tools used for shaping, coloring, and decorating.

 

The workshop also highlighted the aesthetic and creative aspects of this art, demonstrating its potential to develop manual skills and enhance the artistic sense of the trainees, alongside its applicability in decorative and contemporary handicraft fields.

 

At the conclusion of the workshop, the students were able to practically apply the skills they had acquired and create preliminary artistic models using cold porcelain clay, reflecting the success of the workshop in achieving its educational and artistic objectives.
