From the Land of the Two Rivers… Al-Zahra University (peace be upon her) Establishes a Gateway to Leadership in the Knowledge Economy

Al-Zahra University (peace be upon her) for Women demonstrated its active presence at the central opening ceremony of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week – Iraq 2025, hosted by Karbala University as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, under the theme “From the Land of the Two Rivers… Ideas Take Off.” The event highlighted the university’s role as a key hub for fostering entrepreneurial initiatives within the Iraqi academic community.

The university was represented by Eng. Dr. Ahmed Yahya Awad Al-Khazai, Director of the Department of Science and Technology Parks, reflecting the institution’s support for national initiatives aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and innovation, and enhancing inter-university collaboration. These efforts contribute to transforming knowledge into productive projects capable of meeting development needs and labor market demands.

The event witnessed broad participation from academics, entrepreneurs, representatives of government and private institutions, as well as a delegation from the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, alongside notable student involvement. Activities focused on fostering a university environment that supports creativity through exhibitions, workshops, and specialized seminars. Through its participation, the university affirms its commitment to building a sustainable knowledge economy and cultivating a culture of innovation among its students.
