ZUW participated in the preparatory meeting for the Second Scientific Conference, which was convened under the chairmanship of Eng. Naseef Jassim Al-Khattabi, the Governor of Holy Karbala, with the broad participation of governmental and academic leaders in the governorate, as part and parcel of the ongoing preparations for the forthcoming conference.

The University was represented at the meeting by Prof. Dr. Zuhair Mohammed Ali Jaddoa, the vice to the University President for Scientific Affairs, whose attendance underscored the institution’s active role and continued contribution to supporting scientific and academic initiatives that serve the community and advance the higher education sector.

The meeting addressed a number of scientific and organisational themes related to the conference. Additionally, key research areas and organisational mechanisms were reviewed, alongside discussions on effective strategies to ensure the conference’s success in a manner befitting the academic standing of Holy Karbala and reflecting its aspirations to further develop higher education and scientific research.

Furthermore, emphasis was also placed on the importance of strengthening cooperation and integration between academic and governmental institutions, thereby facilitating the utilisation of research outputs in support of development plans, addressing contemporary challenges, and advancing progress across various sectors.

The conference, scheduled to be held on 27 March, will bring together a distinguished group of academics and researchers from various universities and scientific institutions. It is envisaged as a comprehensive scientific platform for the exchange of expertise and the presentation of ideas and perspectives, contributing to the provision of practical and evidence-based solutions that support developmental efforts in the governorate and meet its future aspirations.
