The Council of ZUW convened its regular meeting under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, President of the University, with the attendance of Council members and senior staff. The meeting addressed a number of strategic issues related to the advancement of the academic trajectory and the enhancement of educational quality within the University.

The session included a thorough review of proposals submitted by Faculties and academic departments for the introduction of new specialisations within the 2026–2027 academic plan. Additionally, these proposals were examined in accordance with rigorous scientific and methodological criteria, taking into account labour market demands and the strategic directions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The Council also discussed mechanisms for strengthening both academic and institutional excellence, emphasising the importance of adherence to accreditation requirements and the implementation of quality assurance and continuous improvement frameworks.

It is worth mentioning that this meeting comes as part and parcel of the University’s ongoing efforts to develop its academic programmes in line with national and international standards, thereby supporting the preparation of graduates equipped to meet labour market needs and contribute effectively to society.
