A smart medal developed by a pharmacy student to enhance medical response in emergencies

Pharmacy student Fatima Al-Zahraa Emad participated in the Ain Al-Hayat Festival exhibition, held at the Baghdad International Fairgrounds, with a technological project that carries a humanitarian dimension: a smart medal designed to store essential health information for individuals.

The project is based on the idea of enabling medical personnel to quickly and securely access necessary health data in emergencies, thus contributing to reducing response times and increasing health safety, especially for the most vulnerable groups, such as children, diabetics, and people with disabilities. It aims to address one of the most prominent challenges in dealing with emergencies, where time can be crucial in saving lives.

The smart medal provides a practical way to overcome delays in accessing medical information by making it instantly available to specialists.

This project, which won third place among 20 entrepreneurial projects at the 2026 Investment and Entrepreneurship Exhibition, reflects a growing trend among health college students to utilize modern technologies to serve the community.
