College of Pharmacy Continues Awareness Campaigns to Reduce Disease and Instill Preventive Concepts
The College of Pharmacy at Al-Zahraa University for Women organized an educational and awareness campaign at Sana Al-Warith School. The initiative aimed to raise health awareness among students regarding blood lipids (cholesterol and triglycerides) and their associated diseases, while introducing preventive measures and safe treatment methods.
The campaign was held under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Noor Hatif Al-Dabbagh, and supervised by the Head of the Clinical Pharmacy Department, Dr. Asmaa Abdul-Aziz. It is part of the college’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its community role by spreading health culture beyond the academic framework.
The campaign focused on simplifying medical concepts related to hyperlipidemia (high blood fats), including its health risks that may lead to chronic conditions such as cardiovascular diseases. Additionally, it provided practical guidance on a healthy lifestyle, emphasizing balanced nutrition and the importance of physical activity.
This initiative comes within a broader strategy adopted by the college to reach various segments of society, particularly students, as they represent a key demographic in building long-term health awareness.
