Promising Nanotechnology for Alzheimer’s Treatment in a Scientific Research by a Faculty Member at the College of Pharmacy

In a step reflecting the continuous progress in pharmaceutical research, Asst. Prof. Dr. Dhiaa Rahim Al-Tamimi, Head of the Pharmacology and Toxicology Department and faculty member at the College of Pharmacy, published a scientific research paper titled: "CHITOSAN COATED SELENIUM-DONEPEZIL NANOPARTICLES AMELIORATE SCOPOLAMINE-INDUCED MEMORY IMPAIRMENT IN RATS" in the International Journal of Applied Pharmaceutics, an international journal indexed in Scopus and ranked within the Second Quartile (Q2).

The study aimed to explore the therapeutic potential of innovative nanoparticles combining Selenium and the drug Donepezil, coated with Chitosan, using an animal model simulating Alzheimer's disease induced by Scopolamine.
