As part of its scientific activities aimed at promoting awareness of medicinal and nutritional plants, the College of Pharmacy organized an informative workshop on the Moringa plant, widely known as the “Miracle Tree,” due to its diverse health and nutritional benefits and its role in supporting sustainable agriculture.

The workshop was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Ruaa Ali Obeid and Assistant Lecturer Safaa Redha, who presented key scientific aspects of the plant, including its characteristics, origin, and cultivation regions, while highlighting its nutritional and medicinal value and diverse applications.

The sessions addressed Moringa as a fast-growing, drought-resistant plant, rich in essential vitamins and minerals such as vitamins A, C, and E, iron, and calcium. Its antioxidant properties and role in boosting immunity and overall health were also emphasized.

In addition, the workshop explored the practical applications of Moringa in food, medicine, and water purification, alongside a review of recent scientific studies examining its various health effects.

The organizers recommended encouraging students to incorporate Moringa into research and agricultural projects, raising public awareness of its health benefits, and continuing scientific studies to further expand its applications.

The workshop concluded with active engagement from participants, who expressed strong interest in applying the presented scientific knowledge in their future research and daily lives.
