The College of Education at Al-Zahraa University (PBUH) for Women organized a scientific workshop entitled “The Many Faces of Blackmail,” presented by Assistant Lecturer Khawla Jihad Qasim from the Department of Special Education. The workshop targeted both academic staff and students, aiming to raise awareness of psychological blackmail and its various forms.
The workshop addressed the concept of psychological blackmail as a behavior that may appear openly or, at times, be disguised under the guise of care and support, making it more complex and difficult to detect. It also highlighted its main patterns and methods, while clarifying the key differences between healthy communication based on mutual respect and manipulative or controlling behaviors.
Furthermore, the workshop emphasized the importance of developing awareness of personal boundaries and strengthening assertiveness skills, which contribute to self-protection and the building of balanced, healthy relationships.
This workshop is part of a series of scientific and awareness activities organized by the College of Education to support the academic environment and enhance psychological and social awareness among its members.
