As part and parcel of its recent activities, the Department of Anaesthesia within the Faculty of Medical and Health Technologies at the University launched an awareness campaign on a number of health conditions affecting women’s health. The latest initiative featured an educational lecture entitled “The Importance of Nutrition and Therapeutic Exercise in Managing Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Among Women.”

The lecture targeted academic staff and female students of the University and aimed to raise awareness about Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), methods of reducing the risk of developing the condition, and the importance of physical activity and healthy nutrition in its management.

The session also included an introductory overview of PCOS, highlighting the groups most susceptible to the condition, its common symptoms, diagnostic procedures, and evidence-based approaches to its management through therapeutic exercise and proper nutrition.
