Under the patronage of the President of Al-Zahraa University (PBUH) for Women, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Sultani, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Noor Al-Dabbagh, the College of Pharmacy, in cooperation with the Research Center and the Continuing Education Center, organized a scientific workshop entitled:

“Mouse Models in Medical Research: Uses, Benefits, and Scientific Applications.”

The workshop shed light on the pivotal role of mouse models in medical and pharmaceutical studies, as they are considered among the most important experimental tools contributing to the understanding of diseases and the development of treatments within precise scientific frameworks and methodologies.

The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturer Ali Shaker, who managed its scientific themes in a clear and well-organized manner, offering a methodological approach that enhanced understanding of the practical aspects and linked them to real research applications. Assistant Lecturer Hawraa Ibrahim also contributed to delivering the scientific content, helping to clarify concepts and explain practical applications through a smooth and example-supported presentation.

The workshop covered the major research uses of these models, mechanisms for employing them in laboratory experiments, and modern applications that support innovation in medicine and pharmaceutical sciences. It also emphasized the ethical considerations regulating the use of animals in scientific research.

The workshop witnessed academic participation from students and researchers, reflecting growing interest in strengthening research and practical skills, as well as connecting theoretical knowledge with scientific practice inside laboratories.
