The College of Engineering Launches the “Women AI Hub” Platform to Support Female Students in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation
The College of Engineering and Information Technology has launched the “Women AI Hub” platform as an integrated academic and technological project aimed at empowering female students in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital innovation, in line with the college’s vision of supporting sustainable development and strengthening women’s presence in the technology sector.
This initiative was announced during the reception hosted by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Ghaidaa Al-Mulla, for the first meeting of the project’s executive team, attended by academic and administrative staff members.
The meeting included discussions on the platform’s overall vision and operational mechanisms, in addition to the formation of specialized and administrative teams, plans for developing training content and practical courses, and the establishment of a digital incubator to support students’ entrepreneurial and innovative projects. These efforts aim to enhance students’ technical skills and improve their professional readiness for the labor market.
The platform adopts an integrated model that connects education, application, and innovation through specialized training teams in artificial intelligence, data analysis, cybersecurity, and application development. It also focuses on building professional digital portfolios for students and connecting them with practical training opportunities and collaborations with academic institutions, technology organizations, and the private sector.
The meeting also addressed the organizational roles of the platform’s development team, supporting team, and administrative and media committees, alongside plans to expand student activities and initiatives related to the project. The initiative falls within the proposal to establish a UNESCO Chair titled: “Women in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation for Sustainable Development,” with the aim of creating an educational and research environment that supports women’s participation in technology and digital transformation fields.
