The study reflects the integrated efforts of the College of Pharmacy and Al-Zahraa Research Center for Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences in supporting students’ graduation projects and developing them into rigorous scientific studies suitable for publication in peer-reviewed academic journals. This approach demonstrates the University’s commitment to fostering a culture of scientific research and linking higher education outcomes with the needs of society.
The study involved 365 students who participated in an electronic questionnaire assessing their health and dietary knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP), in addition to laboratory tests conducted on 100 students at Al-Zahraa Research Center for Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The findings revealed an anemia prevalence rate of 34% and showed that unhealthy dietary practices were associated with an approximately threefold increase in the risk of anemia.
This achievement highlights the role of Al-Zahraa University, the College of Pharmacy, and Al-Zahraa Research Center for Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences in promoting high-quality scientific research and transforming student graduation projects into studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
The publication further underscores Al-Zahraa University for Women’s commitment to providing an academic environment that fosters research and innovation, while empowering students to contribute to the production of scientific knowledge that serves society and addresses pressing health challenges. This aligns with the University’s vision of enhancing the quality of higher education and advancing scientific research outcomes at both the national and international levels.
