The Department of Radiological Techniques at the Faculty of Health and Medical Technologies, Al-Zahraa University for Women, held a scientific course entitled Laboratory Detection of Arthritis.

The course addressed arthritis, methods of its detection, and the tests required to identify the condition and determine its degree of severity.

Asst. Lect. Zahra' Qais Jasim, defined rheumatoid arthritis as a chronic inflammatory disease. She noted that it is an autoimmune disease that occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks the body’s tissues. She further indicated that it may affect areas other than the joints and can damage a wide range of body systems, including the skin, eyes, lungs, heart, and blood vessels.
