Al-Zahraa University for Women Commemorates the Second Anniversary of the Passing of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah at the College of Engineering and Information Technology

Al-Zahraa University for Women commemorated the second anniversary of the passing of His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, honoring him as a prominent figure whose legacy left a lasting impact on the people of the region and their historical journey. The commemorative ceremony was held in Al-Siddiqah (Peace Be Upon Her) Hall at the College of Engineering and Information Technology, under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, and the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Ghaida Abdul Hussein Al-Mulla, with the attendance of senior university officials, faculty members, administrative staff, and students from various colleges.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a moment of silence and the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah in memory of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and all those who had passed away. The program then continued with segments highlighting key milestones of his life and public career, reflecting on his steadfast commitment to his principles and the causes he championed.

The event featured a eulogy reviewing significant aspects of his life and legacy. In her address, the University President emphasized that commemorating Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah is not merely an occasion to remember his passing, but also an opportunity to reflect on the lessons drawn from his life, particularly his commitment to truth, steadfastness in the face of challenges, and adherence to the principles and values he upheld. She noted that remarkable figures continue to live on through the influence of their ideas and the enduring impact of their actions.

The ceremony also included a variety of student contributions, demonstrating the participation of different university colleges. A student from the College of Engineering delivered a poetic recital, a student from the Department of Anesthesia recited verses from the Holy Qur’an, and a student from the College of Pharmacy presented an elegiac poem. The program further included the master of ceremonies and the official address delivered by the Head of the Media Division at the College of Engineering and Information Technology.

A documentary presentation showcasing notable moments from Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s life and journey was also screened. This was followed by a candle-lighting ceremony accompanied by a special anthem in his honor, creating a solemn atmosphere of remembrance. The event concluded with a reaffirmation of the importance of preserving the memory of those who have passed away and drawing inspiration from the values and principles they represented.

The ceremony was hosted by the College of Engineering and Information Technology and organized by the Department of University Activities in cooperation with the college.
