From Digital Design to the World of Printing

As part of its efforts to enhance practical skills and bridge academic knowledge with the demands of the job market, the College of Engineering and Information Technology organized a scientific and practical visit for female students from the Digital Design Engineering Department to Al-Warith Printing Press. The visit aimed to familiarize the students with the workflow of the graphic design department and the various stages of print production.

The visit included an introduction to the graphic design software used in preparing print materials and the stages involved in preparing digital designs for printing, including color systems, dimensions, and technical resolution. The students also learned about different printing methods and the materials used, while observing the process of transforming a digital design into a printed product, through to the final stages of quality checking and finishing.

The visit focused on developing the students’ artistic and technical skills and strengthening their understanding of the relationship between graphic design and the technical and production aspects of printing. This experience contributes to preparing them for the demands of the job market and broadening their professional opportunities in their field of specialization. The students were accompanied by staff members from the Digital Design Engineering Department, as part of the department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen practical learning and expand students’ hands-on experience.
