The workshop addressed mechanisms for selecting peer-reviewed scientific journals and methods for verifying their indexing and rankings in international databases. It also covered journal performance indicators, scientific publishing models and associated costs, as well as the timeframes required for the various publication procedures. In addition, the workshop highlighted methods for verifying the credibility and reliability of scientific journals and avoiding predatory or hijacked journals.
The workshop also reviewed the standards and procedures involved in selecting the appropriate scientific journal for publication, emphasizing the importance of consistently using the researcher’s name and institutional affiliation in scientific publications. This contributes to the accurate documentation of research output and enhances its visibility across scientific databases.
This workshop is part of the College of Pharmacy’s ongoing efforts to develop the research skills of its teaching staff and enhance their knowledge of academic publishing requirements. These efforts aim to support the quality of scientific research output and increase opportunities for publishing research in reputable scientific journals.
