The second day of the educational course titled 'Solar Energy Systems, Their Protection and Maintenance' continued at the College of Engineering and Information Technology, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Centre. The course is taught by Professor Dr Ali Jafar Al-Husseini, a lecturer in the Department of Artificial Intelligence Engineering.

On the second day, the latest methods for inspecting and maintaining solar energy systems were covered, highlighting ways to maintain the efficiency of solar panels, wiring, and batteries, as well as related electronic devices such as the inverter and charge controller, and their role in ensuring system efficiency.

The lecturer also presented a proposed periodic maintenance programme that includes checking system components, monitoring voltage, current, and energy production, and comparing actual output with expected values, helping to detect faults early, reduce losses, and improve operational performance.

The course comes as part of the college's efforts, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Centre, to spread the culture of clean energy, raise awareness about the optimal use of solar energy systems, and develop the practical skills needed to maintain them and ensure their sustainable performance.
