The initiative was inaugurated as part and parcel of a joint project between Dar Al-Qur’an of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine and Al-Zahraa University for Women. The project of the University Qur’anic Memorisation entitled “Be a Rayhanah” was launched by the General Secretariat of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine during a visit by His Excellency Dr.Naeem Al-Aboudi, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research to the University campus.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by His Eminence Al-Sheikh Abd Al-Mahdi Al-Karbala'i, the Legitimate Overseer of the Affairs of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine; Al-Hajj Hassan Rashid Al-Abayechi, Secretary-General of the Shrine; Al-Hajj Fadhel 'Awz and Dr. Ala' Dia' Al-Din, Deputy Secretary-General. Along with Dr. Sattar Al-Sa'adi, President of the Health and University Education Authority; and Prof. Dr. Zainab Abd Al-Hussein Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the University President, in addition to a number of academic and administrative staff members within the campus.
The launch of the project included a range of Qur’anic activities for female students, in addition to Mrs Amal Al-Mutawri, Head of the Women’s Qur’anic Activities Unit at Dar Al-Qur’an of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine Statement. It is significant to point out that she stated that the opening ceremony was attended by the distinguished guests referred to above, in addition to Eng. Naseef Jassim Al-Khattabi, Governor of Karbala, and Dr. Al-Sayyid Murtadha Jamal Al-Din, Assistant Head of Dar Al-Qur’an.
She further noted that His Excellency Dr. Al-Aboudi affirmed his full support for the Qur’anic initiatives organised by the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine across numerous Iraqi governorates, highlighting their significant positive impact on Iraqi society.
