Al-Zahraa University for Women organised a training course entitled “Self-Development” in cooperation with the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance and the Department of Continuing Education. The said event was held in conjunction with Barakat Al-Anwar Al-Muhammadiyah campaign initiatives launched by Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, and under the auspices of the Authority for Health and Higher Education.

The three-day course, held on 27–29 February 2023 in Umm Abiha Hall, was delivered by Prof. Dr. Zamel Al-Aribi. Additionally, it was attended by Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, and Prof. Dr. Zuhair Mohammed Ali Jaddoa, Vice President for Scientific Affairs, together with the deans of the faculties, their assistants, and members of the academic and administrative staff.

The said course highlighted the significance of self-development as a fundamental driver of personal and societal transformation and an effective means of addressing challenges that hinder individual and community progress. It emphasised that the individual’s inner crisis constitutes the underlying cause of many wider issues and their repercussions across the fields of economics, politics, education, and technology.

Participants also explored the essential dimensions of human nature—spirit, intellect, heart, and body—as well as the four fundamental relationships that shape human life: one’s relationship with oneself, with Allah the Almighty, with others, and with the surrounding world. The programme was enriched with practical examples and real-life case studies to reinforce the concepts presented.

Through its training courses, workshops, and cultural and developmental programmes, Al-Zahraa University for Women remains committed to enhancing the professional capabilities of its academic and administrative staff, thereby contributing positively to the development of female students and preparing them to play effective roles in both academic and professional spheres.
