In a first-of-its-kind visit, a delegation from Al-Zahraa University for Women visited Hakim Sabzevari University, the second-largest university in eastern Iran, located in the city of Sabzevar in Razavi Khorasan Governate. The university is among the Iranian higher education institutions that have achieved international rankings, including the Times Higher Education rankings.

The delegation was headed by Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, President of Al-Zahraa University. The visit was part of a series of planned visits during the delegation’s stay in the Islamic Republic of Iran, aimed at opening avenues for joint cooperation between ZUW and regional universities with established academic, scientific, and research contributions, in ways that support the educational process at Al-Zahraa University.

The two sides discussed a number of issues concerning Muslim women, including ways of protecting them from attempts to undermine their values and principles, as well as the ways and means of enabling them to attain the highest levels of knowledge, education, and cultural awareness, alongside their family and social roles.

The two sides also concluded a joint cooperation agreement covering the exchange of scientific, educational, research, and developmental expertise. Hakim Sabzevari University gave preliminary approval to provide fully funded scholarships for outstanding female students of ZUW to pursue postgraduate studies, according to the corresponding academic specialisations offered by both universities.
