Students of the English Department at Al-Zahraa University for Women Win First Position at the Third Scientific Debate

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Zahraa University, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, and under the direct supervision of the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Iman Samir Bahia, the Department of English Language / Faculty of Education held a scientific debate for its students with the students of the universities of Kufa and Babylon. The debate ended with Al-Zahraa University for Women winning first position, followed by the University of Kufa in second position, and the University of Babylon in third position. The debate which took the form of questions to be answered within specified time limits, was arranged as follows: phonetics (second stage), linguistics, (third stage), linguistics (fourth stage), grammar (second stage), play (third stage) and play (fourth stage). It is noteworthy, that complete neutrality was observed by the administration, represented by the staff of Al-Zahraa University for Women and the debate committee, represented by staff members of the participating universities. At the end of the debate, all students from the three universities were honored, in addition to a special prize for the winning university.
