Education Faculty / Department of English hosted recently a joyful graduation ceremony for its Female students for the academic year 2024-2025. The event took place under the aegis of Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein along with the direct supervision of Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Sultani, President of Al-Zahraa University for Women. The celebration was held under the slogan “Language is Our Means”.
Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Sultani, in her speech, congratulated the female graduates and noted that the event signified the culmination of years of their academic efforts and perseverance, heralding a new beginning towards a forward-looking future. Additionally, she managed to shed light on the importance of drawing inspiration from the values of Lady Fatima Al-Zahraa (AS), whose legacy of knowledge and virtue added a spiritual dimension to the occasion. Dr. Al-Sultani also applauded Faculty members for their commitment to education, characterizing teaching as a noble mission that demanded both devotion and sincerity. Besides, she highlighted that those qualities were reflected in the efforts of the English Department’s professors, who were committed to preparing a generation equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to tackle future challenges.
Dr. Iman Sameer, Dean of Education Faculty, conveyed her pride in that graduation cohort and commended both female students and their instructors. Furthermore, she emphasized that graduation marked the beginning of a boarder journey of success, urging female graduates to harness their skills to serve society.
Dr. Qasim Al-Azzawi, Head of the English Department, stressed his admiration for the female graduates and pointed out the role of language in fostering communication and global engagement. In addition, he encouraged female graduates to apply their knowledge for both personal enrichment and professional development.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of memorabilia graduation certificates, amidst an atmosphere filled with joy and pride. It is worth mentioning that female graduates and their families expressed happiness and gratitude for that moment, which they recognized as the fruit of years of hard work and devotion. Attendees also extended their appreciation to the University’s administration and the Faculty for their unwavering support and guidance, which played a vital role in enabling female students to achieve that milestone.
