A two- journalist Italian media delegation, namely; Ms. Cristina Messori and Ms. Rossella Vibiani, visited Al-Zahraa University for Women, accompanied by the Assistant Director of Media at the Tourism Authority in Iraq, Mr. Mohsen Abdul Ali Hashim. It is important to point out that the visit which is part of the program carried out by the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Tourism Authority was also hosted by Imam-Hussain Holy Shrine. The visit aimed to keep abreast about the University and its academic departments, in addition to nature of sectarian and religious diversity among its female students. The tour included several religious and tourist landmarks and institutions in Iraq, with a particular focus on cultural activities alongside issues related to religions, political thought, combating violent extremism, in addition to the rejection of all forms of racism among nations. Furthermore, the visit is conducted within a series of activities organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Tourism Authority with a view to promote cultural and media exchange between countries. It bears noting that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has formed a special cultural diplomacy committee, pursuant to a ministerial decree issued by the Prime Minister, with the aim of supporting cultural initiatives and enhancing communication with peoples through the media to be apprised about different cultures.
