Al-Zahraa University Honored at Karbala Scientific Scholar Conference
The Holy Karbala Governorate embodied its deep commitment to scientific and cognitive revival movement by organizing the First Scientific Conference of Karbala Scholars in 2025. The event, which was held under the patronage of the Governor of Karbala, Eng. Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi and in cooperation with the University of Karbala, was arranged via high-level scientific and preparatory committees. It is significant to note that the Conference has reflected the Governorate's interest in promoting scientific research as a major driver of a comprehensive revival movement in various vital and environmental sectors in the Governorate. At the Conference which was held under the slogan "Scientific Research; Towards Sustainable Local Development," Al-Zahraa University's academic elites with scientific competencies garnered honors for achieving academic excellence in the fields of research and development as well as finding appropriate solutions to future challenges. Furthermore, the recognition was also an expression of appreciation of the University's role in promoting excellence and supporting higher education in the country. Prof. Dr. Ali Jaafar Al-Hussaini, Director of the Scientific Affairs Department, and Prof. Dr. Lama Majeed Ahmed, Director of the Al-Zahraa Center for Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences Research, received the Shield of Scientific and Cognitive Excellence, in recognition of their leading role in supporting innovation and managing applied scientific research that serves local development. It goes without saying that Al-Zahraa University’s participation in the afore-mentioned Conference is testament to its academic standing and serious dedication to supporting leading universities and academic institutions in Karbala Governorate, in fulfillment of its role as a strategic partner seeking to attain sustainable development goals and embodying Karbala's vision as a renewed scientific and cultural center.
