As part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s ongoing efforts to finalise the requirements for the institutional accreditation process, Al-Zahraa Centre for Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences Research at Al-Zahraa University for Women welcomed a scientific committee from the Ministry’s Directorate of Research and Development.
The visit aimed to conduct a field tour and assess the extent to which the University complies with established regulations and accreditation standards.
Additionally, the committee was chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Kawakeb Najm Al-Din, Director of the National Centre for Cancer Research at Baghdad University. Its members included Asst. Prof. Dr. Dhafir Abdullah Farhan, Director of the Cancer Research Unit at Thi-Qar University, and Dr. Nawar Sameer Mohammed from the Medicine Faculty at Baghdad University.
During the visit, the committee examined the Centre’s infrastructure, research records, and relevant scientific and administrative documentation. The members also commended the University’s efforts to foster a robust research environment and for its commitment to complying with institutional quality standards.
This visit forms part of a broader set of procedures aimed at ensuring the quality of academic and research performance, while supporting scientific centers in achieving their objectives in alignment with the Ministry’s strategic vision for higher education in Iraq.
It is worth noting that Al-Zahraa Research Centre for Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences stands as one of the University’s most prominent research entities. The center is dedicated to advancing scientific research and elevating the quality of outcomes by utilizing state-of-the-art equipment sourced from internationally recognized manufacturers. The center aspires to build an integrated research system that meets academic accreditation requirements and contributes meaningfully to the development and impact of scientific production.
