Al-Zahraa University for Women has added a new research achievement to its academic record of an advanced study publication in the International Journal of Intelligent Engineering & Systems, indexed in Scopus (Q2). This milestone further strengthens the University’s standing among institutions committed to rigorous knowledge production and scientific research advancement at the international level. The study, entitled “A Hybrid TD-PSO Feature Selection Approach for Accurate Arrhythmia Classification based on ECG Heart Signals”, was authored by:
• Asst. Prof. Dr. Hasan Hadi Al-Qazzaz, the President University Vice for Administrative and Financial Affairs
• Dr. Amir Nasser, Head of the Studies and Planning Department
The research introduces a sophisticated hybrid methodology combining Topsoe Distance and Particle Swarm Optimization techniques. Additionally, it aims to enhance the accuracy of arrhythmia classification based on electrocardiogram (ECG) signals through artificial intelligence and machine learning. This innovation represents a promising step towards advancing intelligent medical diagnostics and improving the reliability of modern healthcare systems.
It is worth mentioning that this achievement underscores the University’s ongoing commitment to supporting rigorous scientific research and strengthening its contribution to medical and technological progress. Besides, it consolidates the University’s academic presence within international indexing platforms, opening new horizons for collaborative research and producing high-quality knowledge that serves society.
