Al-Zahraa University for Women took part in the First National Conference on Voluntary Work, organised by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Al-Hakim Grand Hall at the University of Baghdad. The conference was held under the auspices and presence of His Excellency the Minister, Dr. Na'eem Al-Aboudi, alongside university presidents and representatives from various Iraqi academic institutions.

The University’s participation came under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the University President, and the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Hassan Al-Qazzaz, the Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, along with Lect. Dr. Aa’da Hussein Aboud, Director of the Student Activities Department, is heading the University’s delegation. Additionally, the delegation included volunteer teams from the Faculties of Pharmacy, Engineering, and Health and Medical Technologies, as well as a group of distinguished female students active in the field of voluntary work.

During the conference, 50 public and private universities were honoured for their effective contribution to promoting a culture of volunteerism and implementing community initiatives. It is worth mentioning that the University received a special award of recognition from the Minister of Higher Education in appreciation of its pioneering efforts in fostering the values of volunteer work and instilling social responsibility among its female students.

This achievement comes as a culmination of the University Presidency’s continuous support for the Department of Student Activities and its dedication to making volunteer work an educational approach and an authentic social practice that contributes to building renewed community awareness and strengthening the University’s role in serving society. The University affirmed its commitment to continuing the launch of impactful volunteer initiatives that embody its mission of serving humanity and the community, in line with its vision of preparing an academically conscious and socially responsible generation.
