Within the framework of the awareness activities conducted by the Department of Radiology and Sonography Techniques at the Faculty of Health and Medical Technologies, Al-Zahraa University for Women, the department organised a training course entitled "Nursing Skills", attended by the University's female students. The said course aimed to develop the female students' nursing skills and ensure the adoption of scientific procedures in this field.
The course, which was presented by Asst. Lect. Marylin Hashim Salloum, a faculty member at the University, included an explanation of vital signs and their clinical significance, encompassing body temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, in addition to blood oxygenation and the presence of pain.
Furthermore, the session addressed the definition of normal baseline ranges and their assessment methodologies. It also discussed the clinical scenarios in which vital signs are evaluated to identify health issues, determine physiological responses to medical treatment, and monitor patient health status, alongside identifying the factors that influence vital signs and the appropriate protocols to address them.
