The English Language Department, Faculty of Education at Al-Zahraa University for Women organised a voluntary visit to the Al-Warith International Cancer Institute, affiliated with Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, to meet children battling cancer. The said event was in solidarity with young patients and in an effort to bring smiles to their innocent faces while offering them psychological support.

This initiative comes as part and parcel of a series of voluntary and community service activities consistently undertaken by the University.

The delegation of volunteer female students was accompanied by a slew of a faculty members, where the team distributed gifts and flowers to the children receiving treatment at the institute.

The visit also included an informative meeting between the female students and the medical staff, during which the mechanisms of the institute’s work were explained. The institute’s administration expressed great appreciation for the efforts of the University’s delegation, recognising their contribution as a significant gesture of support for the patients.

It is significant to point out that Al-Warith International Cancer Institute represents a comprehensive humanitarian project and is considered the largest hospital in Iraq dedicated to cancer treatment. The hospital has been equipped with state-of-the-art medical technologies from renowned international manufacturers to provide advanced diagnostic and radiotherapy services.
