Under the slogan “Al-Hussein, the Teacher of Humanity”, and under the generous patronage of the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education, the Department of Arabic Language held its first annual festival on the occasion of Teacher’s Day and in conjunction with the Sha’ban birth anniversaries, on March 6, 2024.

The festival, organized by the Department of Arabic Language / College of Education / Al-Zahraa University for Women, was held in collaboration with the University of Karbala / College of Education for Human Sciences / Department of Arabic Language. The event was attended by a distinguished group of professors and a number of poets from Karbala.

The festival featured a series of speeches and poetry recitals. Dr. Ali Abd Al-Fattah, Dean of the College of Education at the University of Babylon, delivered a speech on this occasion, followed by a speech from Dr. Karima Nomas Al-Madani representing the Department of Arabic Language at the University of Karbala. Dr. Khudair Darwish welcomed the attendees and presented a poem, after which several poets from the city recited their works. The series concluded with a poem by Dr. Ali Al-Maslawy.

At the closing of the festival, several attendees were honored, including Mr. Khalid Mar’i Al-Masoudi, Head of the Teachers’ Syndicate in Karbala. The attendees expressed their appreciation to Al-Zahraa University for Women for organizing such events and commemorations, which highlight the noble status of teachers and their pioneering role in shaping generations and nurturing minds.
