Under the auspices of the president of Al-Zahraa University for Women, and supervision by the Dean of the Education Faculty, the English Language Department held a workshop entitled “The Meme Theory” the workshop presented by Asst. Lect. Nadia Abd Al-Kareem Abbas.
It was shown that the origin of the word meme and how it is used linguistically and visually, also touched upon merging the previous two cases to clarify some ideas, the female student Zainab Zuhair Turki, one of the students of the faculty of Education at the same university, participated in the workshop to present one of the poems using images of memes as well. A number of professors from the department and female students attended the workshop, which included several contributions and questions from the audience directed towards the lecturer, who in turn clarified and adequately answered what was raised during the workshop.
