Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mullah Al-Sultani the President of the University, the Women Affairs Division organized a specialized scientific seminar entitled “ Climate Change and Adaptation Strategies” in cooperation with / the Radiology Department / the Faculty of Health and Medical Technologies
The seminar presented by Prof. Dr. Sadiq Haleem Al-Murshidi the Head of the Radiology Department , and Miss. Wala’ Ala’ Mahmoud. The discussion focused on analyzing the impacts of climate change on the environment, society, and public health, as well as ,reviewing the latest scientific studies and international reports that highlight the manifestations of climate change, rising temperatures, weather fluctuations, and the challenges that faced by communities amid these changes.
The seminar also addressed ways to adapt with climate change through the adoption of practical and technological strategies, including improving the efficiency of natural resource use, enhancing community awareness about the importance of environmental sustainability, and developing educational and training programs aimed at providing female students with the knowledge and necessary skills that contribute to reducing negative environmental impacts.
The university emphasizes through organizing such events its commitment to promoting environmental awareness and scientific culture among female students, encouraging them to innovate, take initiative, and actively contribute to face climate challenges. The university also seeks to instill values of social responsibility in its female students and to inspire them to participate in practical initiatives that enhancing environmental sustainability and contribute to protect the Earth’s resources for future generations.
