A smart medal developed by a pharmacy student to enhance medical response in emergencies.
Student Fatima Al-Zahraa Imad from the College of Pharmacy participated in the Ain Al-Hayat Festival Exhibition, held at the Baghdad International Fairgrounds, through a technical project with a humanitarian dimension represented by the (smart medal) designed to preserve basic health information for individuals.
The project is built on the idea of enabling medical authorities to access essential health data quickly and securely in emergency situations, which helps reduce response time and enhance healthcare safety, particularly for the most vulnerable groups such as children, diabetic patients, and people with disabilities. It aims to address one of the most significant challenges in handling emergency cases, where time can be a decisive factor in saving lives.
The “Smart Medallion” provides a practical solution to overcome delays in obtaining medical information by making it instantly accessible to authorized medical personnel.
The project, which secured third place at the 2026 Investment and Entrepreneurship Exhibition among 20 entrepreneurial projects, reflects a growing trend among students of health colleges toward utilizing modern technologies to serve the community.
