In a distinguished academic and cultural participation at the fourth edition of the “Ayn Al-Hayat” Festival, and within the platform of Al-Zahraa University for Women – College of Engineering and Information Technology, students Noor Al-Zahraa Saddam Hussein and Naba Qutaiba Mardan from the Department of Artificial Intelligence Engineering (third year) presented their creative project: a co-authored book titled “We Listen to Each Other Because We Need One Another.” The work offers a human-centered analytical approach to the relationship between parents and the younger generation.
The book examines, from a psychological and sociological analytical perspective, the roots of intergenerational conflicts and their profound impact on family structure and emotional stability. It highlights key challenges facing communication within Iraqi and Arab families, while providing an informed reading of the causes behind the generational gap, including misunderstandings and differences in values and life experiences.
The project aims to promote a culture of conscious dialogue and to build bridges based on mutual listening and respect, within a reform-oriented human vision that seeks convergence rather than conflict. It also encourages transforming differences into spaces of understanding and complementarity, thereby strengthening family cohesion and redefining intergenerational relationships on healthier and more sustainable foundations.
