The Department of Psychological Counselling and Educational Guidance organised a specialised workshop focused on enhancing self-confidence. The session was tailored for second-year female students within the Mathematics Department of the Faculty of Education. Additionally, the said event comes as part and parcel of the ongoing developmental initiatives at Al-Zahraa University for Women.

The workshop, presented by Zainab Al-Hussaini, the educational counsellor, provided a comprehensive definition of self-confidence while clearly delineating the distinction between healthy self-assurance and arrogance. The discussion further explored the primary manifestations and underlying causes of diminished self-confidence, examining the significant influence of family dynamics, societal expectations, and external peer perceptions on the process of self-actualisation.

Ms. Al-Hussaini emphasised the necessity of abandoning negative internal dialogues in favour of positive self-affirmation. Furthermore, she highlighted the vital role of spiritual practice and devotion to Allah (swt) in achieving internal stability and psychological peace, key pillars that inherently bolster an individual’s self-confidence and resilience.
