The Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, Prof. Dr. Ghaidaa Al-Mulla, received a delegation from the Bayyinah Center for Intellectual and Cultural Security, headed by Dr. Zain Al-Abidin Jaafar and accompanied by Dr. Wi’am Al-Mousawi, with active participation from the Departments of Architecture Engineering and Digital Design Engineering. The meeting aimed to discuss the outcomes of a joint session with Al-Zahraa University for Women and explore mechanisms for translating them into practical programs that serve both academic and societal objectives.

The meeting presented shared visions for launching awareness programs and scientific lectures aimed at promoting a culture of dialogue and national belonging, with a particular emphasis on the role of the Department of Architecture Engineering in applying these concepts through design projects and research focused on preserving the visual identity of the holy city of Karbala. These efforts seek to reflect its historical and urban distinctiveness within a rigorous academic framework.

It was also agreed to prepare a memorandum of understanding outlining implementation mechanisms, supervising committees, and a timeline of activities, paving the way for institutional cooperation that integrates intellectual perspectives with engineering practice. This initiative reinforces the college’s role—particularly the Department of Architecture Engineering—in consolidating concepts of intellectual security and serving the university community.
