Under the auspices of the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Sultani, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, Prof. Dr. Ghaida Al-Mulla, and in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, the college organized a specialized scientific workshop titled “Natural Language Processing: From Text to Intelligence.” The workshop was delivered by Lecturer Asst. Haneen Tamim Abdul Ali, with the attendance of a number of students and faculty members, as part of the college’s efforts to enhance knowledge of modern technologies related to artificial intelligence.

The workshop introduced the concept of Natural Language Processing (NLP) as one of the most important fields of artificial intelligence, enabling computers to understand human language, analyze texts, and extract meaning from them. The lecturer also discussed the mechanisms used in text processing within computers, starting from data input and organization, through word and sentence analysis, to information extraction and its application within intelligent systems.

In addition, the workshop highlighted several practical applications of this technology, such as machine translation, intelligent assistants, and text analysis in search engines and social media platforms, emphasizing the importance of this field in the development of modern intelligent systems. This workshop is part of a series of scientific activities organized by the College of Engineering and Information Technology to keep pace with technological advancements and to enhance students’ skills in advanced digital fields.
