Under the patronage of the President of Al-Zahraa University (PBUH) for Women, Professor Dr. Zainab Al-Sultani, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education, Professor Dr. Iman Sameer Bahiyya, the Department of English at the College of Education organized a training course for second-year students entitled “Turning Ideas into Stories.” The course lasted for three days.

The course was delivered by the lecturer in the department, Assistant Lecturer Sumaya Majeed Al-Yasiri, who explained the process of transforming ideas into short stories. She highlighted the key steps and techniques that help students construct a coherent narrative text, beginning with generating ideas and developing the plot, moving through character construction and the use of narrative language, and ending with producing a complete short story.

The course witnessed notable engagement from second-year students, as its sessions included practical applications and discussions aimed at developing students’ creative writing skills in English and encouraging them to express their ideas through well-structured storytelling.

This course is part of the academic activities that the Department of English at the College of Education is keen to organize in order to develop students’ linguistic and creative skills and enhance their abilities in narrative writing.
