Under the patronage of the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Sultani, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Khafaji, the Department of Cosmetology and Laser Technologies organized a scientific workshop titled “Safety in the Use of Laser Devices.” The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Dhulfiqar Farhan Ubaid.

The session introduced laser technology and its key applications in medical and scientific fields, while also highlighting the potential risks associated with its use, particularly the effects on the eyes and skin when safety procedures are not properly followed.

The lecture also reviewed laser classifications according to hazard levels, in addition to outlining the most important safety rules and guidelines to be followed inside laser laboratories. Emphasis was placed on the necessity of using essential protective equipment and adhering to emergency procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

The workshop aimed to raise awareness among students and academic staff regarding the safe use of laser technologies and to promote a culture of safety in the use of modern equipment within educational and medical laboratories.
