ZUW has concluded the activities of a medical training course entitled “Daughters of the Martyrs… A Health Hope for a Bright Future.” The course was organised by the Department of the Care of Martyrs’ and Wounded Families at the General Secretariat of the Holy Imam Hussein Shrine. The said event was in cooperation with the Centre for Continuing Education and the Faculty of Health and Medical Technologies.
The three-day course featured an intensive training programm comprising a series of scientific lectures and practical sessions. These activities were designed to develop female participants’ foundational competencies in the health sciences, with particular emphasis on the principles of anaesthesia and first aid, thereby enhancing their academic preparedness and supporting their prospective professional trajectories.
Additionally, in a statement delivered on this occasion, His Eminence Sheikh Ahmed Al-Safi underscored the importance of investing in the potential of the daughters of martyrs, noting that their academic and professional empowerment constitutes a continuation of the Holy Imam Hussein Shrine’s enduring commitment to supporting martyrs’ families.
For her part, Profr. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the University President, affirmed the institution’s sustained dedication to supporting training programmes that strengthen female students’ practical capabilities. She further highlighted that hosting such initiatives contributes significantly to the development of female participants’ skills and equips them to meet the demands of the healthcare labour market.
Similarly, Al-Hajj Ahmed Rasool, the Head of the Department for the Care of Martyrs’ and Wounded Families, stated that this course comes as part and parcel of a broader series of ongoing capacity-building programmes aimed at advancing the academic and professional standards of the daughters of martyrs within educational institutions. Besides, he emphasised the continued commitment to launching high-quality initiatives tailored to the needs of this group.
It bears noting that the General Secretariat of the Holy Imam Hussein Shrine continues to implement training initiatives aimed at enhancing competencies, within a broader framework of preparing and empowering the sons and daughters of martyrs. Furthermore, these efforts focus on developing their scientific and practical skills, enriching their expertise in the healthcare field, and transforming their aspirations into effective, responsible professional practice.
