The Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, Prof. Dr. Ghaidaa Al-Mulla, received a delegation from the Arab Digital Empowerment Union in Iraq, headed by the Vice President of the Union, Dr. Khalil Al-Tayyar. The delegation included trainers Hassan Hadi Majbal and Shaker Mahmoud Shaker. The visit was part of ongoing efforts to follow up on the implementation of the agreement between both parties and to strengthen joint training cooperation, supporting the development of students’ skills in digital and technical fields.

During the meeting, the continuation of the training programs implemented by the Union within the college was discussed, along with confirming the launch of the first training workshop dedicated to qualifying the college’s students. The Dean explained that the program will run for five weeks, with one training day per week, and will include five specialized workshops and courses covering multiple areas, including self-learning skills, career pathways in cybersecurity, the software development life cycle, project preparation mechanisms, and training on the Linux system. This aims to enhance practical skills and improve students’ readiness for the job market.

The Union’s delegation confirmed that these programs are part of a strategic plan to activate memoranda of understanding with academic institutions and to strengthen the integration between theoretical and practical aspects. Dr. Khalil Al-Tayyar also highlighted the Union’s efforts to implement a comprehensive training curriculum across its branches in Arab countries, in cooperation with official entities, contributing to digital transformation and the development of qualified technical professionals. It is worth noting that the Arab Digital Empowerment Union focuses on enhancing digital capabilities through specialized training programs and effective partnerships that support the requirements of the digital economy and sustainable development.
