In a step that reflects its forward-looking vision toward building an integrated academic environment, the College of Engineering and Information Technology at Al-Zahraa University for Women played a pivotal role in signing a joint cooperation agreement with the Iraqi Society for Information and Communication Technology, headed by Dr. Eng. Ali Nasser Al-Khuwaildi. The signing took place in the presence of the University President, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, within the framework of the university’s orientation toward strengthening its partnerships with reputable professional institutions.
This agreement, organized by the Science and Technology Parks Department, marks the beginning of a new phase of joint collaboration through the launch of specialized training and development programs. These initiatives aim to support the activities of the Continuing Education Center and expand its capacity to deliver high-quality programs aligned with labor market demands, in addition to contributing to institutional development by leveraging the college’s scientific and practical capabilities.
In this context, the Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, Prof. Dr. Ghaidaa Abdulhussein Al-Mulla, emphasized that such partnerships represent a fundamental pillar in developing the college’s digital infrastructure in line with international standards. She noted that advanced training programs and workshops target a wide audience, including students, graduates, and employees from both the public and private sectors, thereby enhancing their skills and professional competencies to meet the requirements of digital transformation.
The college has already witnessed the first outcomes of this collaboration through the organization of a specialized workshop titled “Economics in Mobile Networks,” delivered by Dr. Eng. Ali Nasser Al-Khuwaildi. The workshop was attended by students from the College of Excellence at the University of Baghdad, alongside students from the college, and addressed the economic dimensions of the telecommunications sector and its role in supporting the national economy.
This collaboration is expected to open broader prospects for the College of Engineering to expand its training services and strengthen its academic and professional presence, thereby reinforcing its position as an active hub in supporting digital transformation and sustainable development at both the local and national levels.
