Under the patronage of the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, Professor Dr. Zainab Al-Sultani, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Al-Khafaji, the Department of Anesthesia organized a scientific workshop titled “Factors Affecting Enzyme Activity,” delivered by Assistant Lecturer Kadhim Adnan Ali. The workshop targeted first-year students and aimed to enhance their scientific understanding of how enzymes function within the human body.
The session addressed the key factors influencing Enzyme Activity, including temperature, pH level, substrate concentration, and enzyme concentration. It explained how variations in these factors can impact enzyme efficiency, either by increasing or reducing their activity.
The workshop also highlighted the importance of maintaining optimal conditions to ensure effective enzymatic performance and its role in regulating vital biochemical reactions in the human body. This contributes to building a strong scientific foundation for students in the early stages of their academic journey.
