The College of Health and Medical Technologies Holds a Scientific Workshop on Lower Limb Amputation Rehabilitation
Under the patronage of the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Sultani, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Assistant Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Khafaji, the Department of Physiotherapy Techniques at the College of Health and Medical Technologies organized a scientific workshop entitled “Lower Limb Amputation Rehabilitation.”
The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturer Marjan Hassan Mohammed, who discussed the latest therapeutic methods aimed at helping patients regain the greatest possible level of mobility and independence following lower limb amputation.
The workshop included a comprehensive presentation of physiotherapy programs focusing on muscle strengthening and balance improvement, as well as training patients to use prosthetic limbs efficiently. It also highlighted the importance of psychological support in adapting to physical and lifestyle changes.
The workshop further emphasized the role of the multidisciplinary medical team, including physicians, physiotherapists, and prosthetics specialists, in achieving the best therapeutic outcomes, ultimately aiming to improve patients’ quality of life and enable them to return to their daily activities effectively.
