The College of Health and Medical Technologies Continues Its Training Programs with an Academic Workshop on Statistics and Data Collection
Under the patronage of the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Assistant Prof. Dr. Ali Jassim Al-Khafaji, the Department of Physiotherapy Techniques, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division, organized an educational workshop entitled “Statistics and Data Collection.”
The workshop addressed the importance of statistics as a fundamental tool in scientific research, explaining that it is divided into descriptive statistics, which focuses on organizing and presenting data, and inferential statistics, which is used for drawing conclusions, making decisions, and predicting outcomes. It also clarified that data are classified into descriptive and numerical types, each having specific methods of analysis that serve the research process and support its accuracy.
This lecture comes within the framework of the College of Health and Medical Technologies’ commitment to developing the capabilities of its academic and research staff and enabling them to employ statistical skills across various scientific disciplines, in a manner that enhances the quality of scientific research and sound academic practices.
